In Islam, Dajjal (Arabic: الدجّال) means “the great deceiver”. Many imagine him as a monster or sorcerer who appears before the Day of Judgment. But according to the Qur’an, Hadith, and the teachings of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, Dajjal is a symbol of widespread religious deception and materialism, not a one-eyed superhuman.
Interestingly, the word Dajjal is not directly mentioned in the Qur’an, but it refers to Dajjal indirectly through symbols and verses—especially in Surah Al-Kahf (Chapter 18). The Prophet ﷺ said:
Whoever memorizes the first ten verses (or the last ten) of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the trial of Dajjal.
